Vineyard :

The Château Lynch-Bages owes its name to an old hamlet named « Bages ». The domain belonged to the Déjean familly but its story truly begins during the XVIIIth century when Pierre Drouillard buys the estate. When he died he left the château to his daughter maried to Thomas Lynch. Following the customs of the day the name of the owner was associated to the name of the château. The domain was classified Cinquième Cru Classé during the ranking of 1855. It is now property of the Cazes family.

The vineyard extends over around 100 acres. Lynch-Bages is mainly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon that combines structure and fineness, elegance and longevity. Rigour, love, dedication are the key words on the château.

Château Haut-Bages Averous was the name of the second wine of the domain. It referred to an ancient property in Pauillac. In 2008 the name changed and became Echo de Lynch-Bages, a name confirming its belonging to the Château. Another wine is produced on the domain, Blanc de Lynch-Bages, a white wine created in 1990.

The Château is known for its great wines but also for its owner. A quality wine of reference.

This vintage 2013 offers a nice quality. The wine shows a dark red shiny colour. On the nose it is characterised by aromas of black fruits like blackcurrant and blackberry. We also notice notes of toast offering a nice complexity. It is particularly dense and concentrated on the mouth. Balance is perfectly mastered. It expresses on ripe fruits and an elegant woody note. The tannin structure is remarkable, dense and silky. A wine also offering a fine length.
