The storybook turrets

The Bordeaux vineyard is full of fabulous stories, like that of Château Palmer, literally built by Major-General Palmer whose passion for his property left him bankrupt, and the Péreire brothers, wealthy bankers who built the present Château building. In the 1930s, the estate passed into the hands of several local merchant families who continue its joint management today. The vineyard is composed of 45 hectares of gravel outcrops overlooking the Gironde estuary. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes create a complex bouquet of fruits, flowers and spices in a wine of density, elegance, and great complexity.
