The house of Drouhin has always been partial to Clos des Mouches, to which it holds exclusive ownership. Ideally exposed Chardonnay vines
of optimum maturity are planted here in a light limestone soil. The wine's bouquet is not the least of the paradoxes offered by this white wine that is both powerful and delicate, demonstrative and reserved, massive and elegant. The 2001 vintage will develop delicious fruitiness, a nose of spring flowers, and a subtle honeyed character in its youth. It is already satisfying on the palate, as can be seen when paired with sautéed skate.
