Description of this Port

They know each other for a long time. The idea was sleeping in their minds for several years. Jorge Roquette, owner of the Quinta Do Crasto in Portugal and Jean-Michel Cazes, owner of the Lynch-Bages in Bordeaux have been associated in 2002 to produce « Xisto – Roquette e Cazes », a great wine of Portugal, in the valley of Douro.
His name « Xisto »(pronouncing « shistoo »)evoke soils of schist of the great terroir of the Valley of Douro.
Xisto - Roquette e Caze has a very nice dark red robe with shiny reflections. The nose has nice aromas of red fruits. The palate is rich and silky with an explosion of complex flavour of sunny wines. A lot of harmony, elegance.
Grape varieties : 60 % touriga nacional – 25 % tinta roriz – 15 % touriga franca
Maturing : 18 months in french oak barrels.
