Description of this Champagne

1985 was the last of three marvellous vintages in Champagne, the first being the 1981. Funnily enough, the 1985 was not particularly successful in other French wine regions but in the Côte des Blancs, where the grapes for this champagne come from, fruits ripened very well that year. The green bottle with its simple yet stylish label conceals a cuvée with golden reflections and a fine bead. On the nose, pistachio nuts are combined with candied fruits, producing a rich complexity. The champagne has marvellous balance with finesse and intensity and a finish packed with flavours. Seductive and irresistible.
