Description of this Auxey-Duresses

Auxey-Duresses used to be separated in 2 different hamlets: Auxey-le-Grand and Auxey-le-Petit. "Les Duresses" used to be one of the terroirs round there.
This village produces white wines on the South slope (close to Meursault) and red wines on the North slope (close to Monthélie and Volnay).
Whites are made on marly chalky soils. The Chardonnay then gets golden colour with green reflection. Flavours are full of honey and apple. The structure is full and persistant.
This is a very great wine that needs time to reveal its full potential.
Production area: 170ha with 40ha for the whites.
