Purchased in 1853 by Nathaniel de Rothschild, Brane Mouton entered the ranks of legend as Mouton-Rothschild. It was with the coming of Baron Philippe de Rothschild that Mouton became the truly monumental first growth that it is today. Besides the construction of cellars and other buildings and the promotion to first growth status, it is the passion of an entire exceptional life that Baron Philippe gave to Mouton. The elegance and magic of this wine has also charmed the greatest contemporary artists, who each year bestow upon Mouton's inestimable wines an original work of art. Château d'Armailhac and Château Clerc Milon closely follow the tradition of quality in the Rothschild family.
