Back in 1984, Olivier Leflaive, his brother Patrick, and other members of the family set up Domaine Leflaive to vinify and age wines from various leading Burgundy appellations. The domain, in the Puligny-Montrachet region, is definitely worth a visit, specialising in Chardonnay, Burgundy's primary white variety. Leflaive's wines are bought as fruit or sometimes as juice straight from the press. The domain takes a personalised approach, aiming at preserving the authenticity of each appellation while respecting the terroir.
