Back in 1765, Irishman Richard Hennessy founded his company Hennessy Connelly & Co on the banks of the Charente river in Cognac. Today the House of Hennessy is probably the most famous cognac house in the world, both for its quality spirits and its style and panache. Not only does Hennessy own 600 hectares of vines, using eaux-de-vie from only the very best crus, the company also has its own distilleries, its own forests and its own barrel makers! Jas Hennessy & Co is not just a brand name, Hennessy is synonymous with Cognac.
