In the 1960’s the world’s leading champagne house, Moët & Chandon embarked on a visionary strategy to explore winemaking opportunities outside France.
After establishing Bodegas Chandon in Argentina and then Chandon California, in 1985 they turned to Australia, recognising that within its unique diversity of viticultural environments, lay excellent opportunities to create high quality still and sparkling wines.
They established in the Yarra Valley of Victoria at the Green Point site (so-named by early settlers who observed that this location remained greener longer into summer than any other area in the valley).
