Description of this Eau de vie de vin

According to an ancient decree and a tasting ruling, Châteauneuf du Pape may be distilled to produce a light oak-coloured brandy, known as "fine" or liqueur brandy. Every year, Château la Nerthe distils several hectolitres of Châteauneuf using a traditional still to produce this brandy with golden reflections. Matured for eight years in old barrels, it develops a nose of both fruit and vegetables mixed with notes of dried fruits once the bottle is opened. The mouth of this rather complex liqueur brandy is full, buttery and spicy. Delicious!
