Description of this
Domaine Monte de Luz has been created in 2000. It benefits from a tempered climate and a well positioned soil. After having experienced for a long time Tannat grape variety in Madiran, family Lesgourgues started to plant grapevines in Uruguay.
The vineyard is exposed on a 150 metres high place, at the bottom of Mont Mahoma (also called Mont de Lumière). 34 ha grapes,49% planted in Tannat, traditionnal grape variety from Uruguay, well adapted to the climate and to the soil, 17% planted in Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% planted in cabernet Franc
and 17% planted in Syrah.
Exceptionnal and rich soil.
From wine harvest till raising, grapes are controlled: disbudding, thinning out, handpicking, temperature control in warehouse...
Marvellous crimson colour.
On the nose, it is intense with strawberry aromas (blackberry, grey pepper and mint aromas)
Soft in mouth, ending on a long fruity and round finale. A well-balanced wine.
