Fontarèche whose name comes from the latin expression « fonte erecto » (the fontain that spurts out)is one of the oldest wine domains of the Corbières region. The inventory of the archbishopric in Narbonne proves the presence of vines in Fontarèche since 1350.
In 1682, the château Fontarèche as well as its wine domain becomes the property of the Mignard family. Today, their descendants, the family Lamy is still managing this wine property. Arnaud de Lamy represents the the 9th generation that maintains the family passion for the Fontarèche. The blazon of the Lamy family has the following motto : « amico de bono amico » friend of a good friendship.
The 100% Syrah Cuvée is a real pleasure, very subtle and perfectly balanced. The wine raising during 4 month in oak barrels gives a slight impression of wood without hiding the richness of fruit and spices.
