CLOUDY BAY

Founded by David Hohnen, the brains behind Cape Mentelle, Cloudy Bay is named after the bay discovered by Captain Cook on his maiden voyage to the Southern Seas. Located in the North-East part of New Zealand's South Island at 41°South, Cloudy Bay has built up an international reputation over the past 20 years, particularly for its Sauvignon Blanc Cloudy Bay. The vines are planted in the well-protected and fertile Wairau Valley in the Marlborough viticultural region, on a terroir of gravel and glacial deposits. Sun drenched days coupled with cool Antarctic breezes provide unusual ripening conditions, producing an exceptional wine with a high degree of alcohol balanced with good acidity.
