Description of this Morey Saint Denis Premier Cru

The Burgundy connoisseur knows about the exceptional quality of the Clos des Lambrays...
The Clos des Lambrays is situated in the middle of the Côte de Nuits, at the top of the Morey Saint Denis village. It is considered as being one the best exposed and most homogeneous of the Burgundy appellation.
The Clos des Lambrays extends on 8.7 hectares only. The wine is very impressive with a powerful structure and a very expressive bouquet with this unique smoky hint.

The "Cuvee des Loups" (Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru) is made with a blend of the youngest vines of the Clos and some parcels of the 1st Growth (La Riotte and le Village). It is very delicate and elegant and R. Parker described Les Loups 2003 (92/100) as one of the finest of the Clos des Lambrays.

The 2005 is just the same! The robe is deep red. The nose is very intense with fresh fruits and mild spices aromas. The mouth is velvety with red and black berries aromas, chocolate and plums. The finale is ample and persistant.
