In just a few years, Sociando-Mallet has become a property of the first order, spoken of in the same breath as the classed growths themselves. Located to the north of Saint-Estèphe, on gravely heights neighbouring the Gironde, Sociando-Mallet has, in the opinion of many wine drinkers, reached the highest levels of the hierarchy. Under the watchful eye of Jean Gautreau, his wonderful terroir finds full expression in a unique wine that is elegant and superbly made. Officially a cru bourgeois, this growth is blessed with the character of a cru classé, a worthy candidate for promotion.
