Standing the test of time

Situated in Pauillac in the ancient hamlet of Bages and formerly the property of the Lynch family, Château Lynch-Bages has been owned by the Cazes family for three generations; under their stewardship, this fifth-growth has enjoyed great success. On 90 hectares of gravel facing the Gironde, Jean-Michel Cazes, "the new baron of Bordeaux", grows a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon which he vinifies to produce a wine that some compare to certain first growths. Lynch-Bages has become a benchmark in Bordeaux, always robust. It's difficult to imagine a wine lover not having several bottles of it, stashed away in the cellar.
