Regum mensis arisque deorum

"For the tables of kings and the altar of the gods!" This is the motto of Château d'Issan, third classified growth whose vineyard faces Château Margaux itself. With the greatest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in the Margaux appellation, Issan is a solid, yet supple, wine. The uniformity of its terroir produces a homogenous character, an old-school Bordeaux that benefits from long ageing. The property's second wine, Blason d'Issan, is a fine Margaux.
