Pale pink with golden reflects, this beautiful Brut Rosé from Billecart-Salmon is simply stunning both in appearance and taste. The champagne is made from a traditional blend of the usual Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes, with 8 per cent red wine added from the house vineyards in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ to produce the delightful rosé colour. Delicate, slow rising and lingering bubbles conceal a nose of redcurrants, raspberries and fresh pears on a bed of brioche. Fresh and clean on the palate, the champagne is fine and elegant and would be delicious served with a cold meat platter or fresh berries and cream.

Agréablement aérien...
13/01/2011Issu d'un des derniers vignobles indépendants de Champagne, ce brut rosé est incontestablement agréable. Découvert lors d'un diner chez Cousseau, à Magescq, j'ai pu constater sa fraîcheur et sa légèreté, agrémenté de délicieuses notes de fruits rouges. Une vraie découverte, et une belle réussite.
