Description of this Syrah du Valais
The large number of grape varieties in this Swiss valley famous for its viticulture, can be somewhat confusing, so a wine made from 100% Syrah would seem to bring us onto familiar territory. Not so! The vines at Cayas plunge their roots into the glacial terroir of the Rhône Valley producing a strongly acidic wine aged for 12 months in new French oak. Rich and full bodied with a strong alcohol content (13%), this purple-coloured liquid has all the usual spiciness of Syrah combined with the unusual flavours given by the climate. The delicately wooded flavour is probably the only thing Syrah fans will immediately recognise. Serve it with grilled meats stews or your favourite cheese.
