Superlative Médoc
Home to three of the five premier growths and 15 classified growths overall, Pauillac's terroir is as good as it gets. The vineyards are dotted with gravel outcrops, deep and poor soils that are the very heart of great winemaking. Pauillac wines are deep purple in colour, with a patchwork of complex and delicate aromas. Rich in tannin, solidly built, powerful in their youth, these wines develop legendary bouquets of red fruit touched with a note of blackcurrant, and an extremely long finish sustained by well-knit tannins.
