The southern most communal appellation in the Médoc, Margaux offers a large palette of wines from first to fifth classified growths.
Some of the finest wines in the Médoc come from the smaller-sized gravel of the Margaux plateau. The great number of vineyard parcels and grape varieties in this appellation help give Margaux's wines an originality, a surprising suppleness, and an irresistibly seductive character. The most "feminine" of Médoc wines, these are supple and fine, richly complex in aroma, and generously elegant.
