La Mancha become the largest wine-producing region in the world. Its ideal climate conditions and unique soil characteristics produce extraordinary concentrated and aromatic wines.
The 2010 harvest saw a return to "a typical year" for la Mancha with a long, cold winter and good spring rainfall. This was followed by a steady, balanced ripening of grapes with more freshness, finesse and length than in prior years.
The resulting wines have medium-low color intensity and high alcohol levels. The 2010 red wines are noted for their ripe blackberry and plum aromas. Tannins are potent so wines will require longer aging periods.
